About this time each evening the Lord blesses me with a smile and joy filling my heart. I had just finished writing the next post for A Writers Corner when I decided to take a break and go breathe in some fresh hot humid air. I just sat down on my deck when the joy bubbled up.
When here she comes…..
I keep the camera beside the door and before she sees me I grab it and sit back down. She’s pretty skittish so I have to sit quietly or she’ll dart away.
She loves the corn I put out each evening. There are others that come, too. A few nights ago I had a “teenage” buck come for dinner. That’s unusual. Unless they’re coming after dark and I don’t see them.
Just look at that beautiful face! She’s watching me. Shhh “Don’t breathe, Cass.”
I haven’t named her yet. Any suggestions?
I grew up in the country and to have the deer, squirrels, chipmunks, bunnies, hawks, and owls, and a flippin’ mole, among other creatures, visit in my one acre lot is pure joy to me. Okay, I can do without the creepy snakes! Thank God I haven’t seen many of those.
She’s had her fill and there she goes. I always get tickled because they know where the corn is and usually come in a trot. After eating they leave in a lazy kind of stroll heading back home to wherever that is.
Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful creatures.
