With the gatherings out the way, we are stepping into a new month. For most of us, it’s a refreshing start to building a relationship with God. For others, we are strengthening our relationship with God. I set my heart this year on reading the bible from the beginning to end with a fresh pair of eyes. As I grow and learn from the Holy spirit, I won’t be stingy and will definitely share it here.

Yesterday, I started in Genesis chapter one. Every time I read the bible, I literally learn something new. I’m sure God designed it to be that way because his word is alive. Alive and active. There were a few things that stuck out to me in this chapter. Surely, we know chapter one breaks down the creation of the earth, the divisions of the sea from land, the creation of stars, moon and the sun. Animals, vegetation and mankind was created also in this chapter. What I noticed the most in this chapter was after God created everything, he said it was GOOD.

The word good in the strong concordance means pleasant, excellent, pleasing, useful and valuable. Meaning EVERYTHING God created is pleasant, excellent, pleasing, useful and valuable. Those are clear Words of Affirmation. God affirms what he creates. You are valuable!

Genesis 1:31 AMP

And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He validated it completely. And there was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.

Key word in this verse is ” Validated”. There is no job, there is no house, no car, no religious practice, cultural practice, no new fashion out there that can validate who God created you to be. God validates us completely.

While typing, this scripture came to mind:

Jeremiah 1:5 AMP
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument],
And before you were born, I consecrated you [to Myself as My own];
I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Although this was a word to Jeremiah and his calling, this is also a word to all of mankind who believe, depend on and truly love God. He knew us before he formed us in the womb. He knew us. He affirmed us and said we were good. So Good to inhale and exhale his breathe of life for his purpose. Because nothing God creates is not less than valuable or pleasing to him.

I used to feel less than. It was not until I took time to study and seek Jesus that I began to understand who he created me to be, and I am still learning, still in the beginning stages of knowing. There is someone today that is going to read this, and they are not feeling their best. Maybe feeling inadequate. I just want you to know that God created you Good! He loves you and waiting for your return if you have not made the decision to follow him. You are pleasing and valuable to him. Study his word. Join a church or study community in your area centered around his word. Read what he says about you, Meditate on it. Then listen for what he says about you.
