Have you ever prayed for your tribe? You know, Friends that you could be completely honest with and who would walk with you and help you stay grounded on your journey with Christ? I remember summer 2024 I found myself in a weird space. I was studying my word daily. Whether it was by audio book or sitting down at my desk reading with a hot cup of tea. I listened to podcasts on YouTube weekly, but none of it filled the need I had for community. I was alone, sure I had my husband and son. I even had Jesus, and a few internet pals that I could send gifs and reels to all wee-hours of the day. However, I couldn’t grab a bite to eat or catch a movie with them being out of state. I needed friendship…….
I sat in my guest room one day and I prayed for good friends. A fresh start in a new community. Friends that would understand my current life transition. Embrace my differences and love me through my struggles…. just as much as I would do the same for them. Friends that was truly judgement free. And I found them …… in Kingdom Culture Sisterhood. Where not only did I strengthen my relationship with my biological sister, but I gained many more sisters. Jesus! I Thank you! I found my tribe!
What is a tribe? While Google may offer an elaborate definition, for me, it’s simple: a diverse group of women from various walks of life united by faith. We pray together, cry together, grow together, and share the love of God. There is undeniable strength in community. Funny, I just realized while typing this …… how powerful the word “community” is. It’s the blend of “common” and “unity.” And our common unity is in Christ.
This past weekend, I had the best time with all my sisters on our first girls’ trip to Destin, Florida. We stayed in the coziest condo, enjoyed delicious food, shopped, had amazing conversations, and shared daily devotions. God was definitely present with us throughout the trip, keeping us safe on the way, dining with us and joining us in every devotion.
We made memories, but one moment I will never forget was the stranger that paid for all of our lunch. Shocked right? Ha! I was too. All nine of us ate lunch for free because God lead a couple into the same restaurant as us.
Here’s the Deets:
We had just finished a Holy Spirit-led and spirit-filled devotion. Afterward, my sister Jacquese suggested we go to lunch at Outback Steakhouse. Naturally, I opposed, saying, “Girl! We have Outback in Mobile!” But then I thought about it… the bread wasn’t that bad. All the ladies agreed to eat at Outback. We loaded up the cars, got out, and before heading in, we had a little photo session. The waitress seated all nine of us, and we began ordering. Once our food arrived, we started eating, laughing, and chatting when a couple walked in. The lady glanced at us and asked, “Are you all Kingdom kids?” I finished chewing, swallowed, and replied, “Yes, ma’am, we are Kingdom kids.” I realized she was reading our shirts. She jokingly asked, “Are y’all ready for the rapture?” We all burst out laughing. Lately, there had been talk about the rapture being on September 23rd, so we understood her joke. The couple sat down, and we went back to enjoying our lunch. Then the waitress came over to our table, handed me the receipt, and said, “Read this out loud.” I did, and it read:

Can you Believe it?? A stranger paid for all our food and I for sure had an appetizer, a meal and dessert! LOL! All praises to the Most High God, and may that couple receive a hundredfold blessing for being a willing vessel in that moment to be used by God.
Many memories were made on this trip. I am thankful and grateful for the wonderful time spent with my sisters. If you need the same as I did with community, friendship and fellowship with like-minded believers, click the link below and join us.
