Make sure to get some rest today.
I know rest can feel out of reach for those of us working, caring for family (like stay-at-home moms), and constantly on the go. I believe that when God created everything, He was intentional about resting on the seventh day. I also know that Jesus said this:
Mark 2:25-26
25 And he said unto them, have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was a hungered, he, and they that were with him?
26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?Mark 2:27
27 And he said unto them, the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:Mark 2:28
28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
God didn’t create the Sabbath as a burden but as a blessing for us. Today, I’m choosing to rest and hope it inspires you to do the same. Rest is a gift, not a prison and obedience should bring life, not exhaustion or fear. Even if it’s just taking a break from social media for a day, it can make a difference.
Also, here’s what I am meditating on:
Ps 91:1-2
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Thank you for taking time to read this. Abide in him this week. Until next Monday …. Have a blessed day.
